In the food and beverage industry, it is used to control pH, stabilise and thicken as well as being used in the processing stages of a variety of fresh and dried foods.
Caustic potash flake is also used as a bleaching agent for textiles, the removal of animal hairs from hide and used heavily in the paper and pulp industry during manufacturing processes.听听
